you can have them on the same connector. if you look at a J1939 deutsch 9 pin pinout you can see where there are provisions for both J1708 and J1939 wires in the same connector. allison DOC and servicemaxx both will search for and Look for both types of connections..

it should, there should be a 3-wire (yellow / green / Black) J1939 connection that goes from the ECM harness of the DT to the TCM harness of the transmission.. in my T444E there is a 3 pin connector on the valve cover for the purpose.. on a DT466E bus it had 3 pin round connectors with these wires in them that went to the dashboard.. the J1939 is a Data BUS meaning that you can splice into these wires (or best would be to unplug and make connectors to put your J1939 round connector someplace...

Now that said, you didnt mention the generation of your 530.. im assuming its a 530E? is it using the large single ECM with 2 monster connectors or does it have separate boxes for ECM and IDM (2004+)

you also need to find the J1708 wires if it is a pre 2008 engine.. they will go into the 9 pin round connector you create.. depending on your ECM type i can see if i have a pinout of the ECM connectors for you to find the J1708 and J1939 connections if you cut them off during the swap
