Ideas for what to build over the wheels

Hi I'm trying to figure out the layout for my midsize bus and wanted to ask you guys how to incorporated the wheelbase and what to build over it so it Blends in

I can tell you what we have done with ours......

Driver's front - under the dining table (kids have to sit against the side of the bus)

Passenger front - under bench seating

Both rears - Under the bottom bunks (still room for storage under half the bunk space)

Search 'floor plans' and you can see lots of creative ideas - no shortage of ingenuity in the Skoolie world!

I am putting a shower over the wheel wells with a seat on both sides and the drain on the Aft end out of the way of the rear-end.

How are you going to stand in your shower?!?!

heeranyi,
Rears ~ storage, think full size armoire type

Front Pax ~ couch

Front Driver ~ Fridge maybe? Currently it's a TV stand on the floor plans I think.

In the center. Here is the layout.

I love the cleaness of your sketch. Mine is a bunch of boxes I'm doing with a pen on a piece of paper

It all gets you to the finish line.

Then you'd love mine. It's on graph paper with pieces of manila folder cut outs. The gf keeps shoving things together corner to corner leaving a diagonal with 12 inches for a walk way.

Bob, tell your gf that you have to have a wide bowling alley.

I'm floored, no pun intended. Walk-through shower... you just solved a huge problem of mine, sir.

Eww, no!! But each to their own.

Couch is going over the driver's side steer. Over the drive wheels, pax side bunks, left side storage.

I've been trying to visualize a walk through shower. "OK, you kids line up and march through that shower."

 My aunt refers to showers as "running through the car wash," so maybe you're on to something here!

Robin97396 05-12-2017 01:46 PM

Could be. I'm still in favor of using a hose with good pressure for the kids. You can concentrate on the dirty spots.

When my kids got dirtier than I could stand, I took them swimming. It gets them clean and wears them out at the same time.

I now understand why I was sent to boarding academy.

To answer the original question, though, my wheel wells are in the area I want to put the kitchen. To best use the space, I am putting a closet/pantry over the wheel well on the passenger side, and a counter/cooktop over the one on the drivers side.

This was basically my how my parents handled our hygiene in the summer. Good times!

Next time, I'm using a river with a strong current. I'll move further upstream just in case they manage to get out.

Ryannmelis 05-12-2017 03:31 PM

I dont mind the walk through shower. I am making a wooden grate to insert when the shower is not being used to prevent wet feet... I am used to multi function areas as I am a retired Submariner.

When I was working on my older buses, with wheel wells, I used to box them in and use the hollow areas for cool dry storage for tools, jacks or any other heavy items.

See, sometimes I'm sorta on subject.
