2003 Thomas STL 5.9 Cummins
Greetings from the Knudsen's and Blubrry! She is our new skoolie, an upgrade from the 1984 GMC Carpenter SB that we've lived in for 8 years.
Took seats out today and looking forward to sharing our conversion story with everyone as we go along.
Questions, suggestions, constructive criticism is welcomed. We love to learn and are the opposite of experts, for sure.
Blubrry has 90,000 miles on a 5.9L Cummins FE. She has an Allison automatic tranny, is 33 feet bumper to bumper with 26.7 feet usable interior length and 6.5 feet interior center height.
Katydid wood stove
Repurpose bus' rear heater to be a clothes dryer
Rear 6-8 feet converted to patio with Cubic Mini wood stove
Wish us luck, LOL
Greetings. Where you located?
We're near Seattle.
The Gutting Has Begun
Seats out and floor is in great condition! Interior sheet metal on walls and ceiling is next. Removed a section of each and no evidence of water leaks so far. Some kind of cheap fiber 'insulation' that looks more like air filter material is underneath it, so if course that's coming out.
The existing 12v system powers 12 overhead lights in the ceiling above the aisle. We'll be using that wiring to power LED lights, instead.
It also has 6 decent speakers installed in the ceiling connected to the radio/CD player that works well.
