I thought of one other point that might be of interest when deciding on all-seasons or winter tires. If you do live in an area where tire chaining isn't mandatory you'll be ever more thankful for good winter tires because you can probably skip the chaining altogether.

Have you ever put winter chains on a tire? It's no fun. Picture this:
Temperature is below freezing. Tires and wheel wells are dripping with sub-zero, salty water. You kneel in the slushy muck and start putting the chains on. It looks like you can put the chains on with your gloves, but to get those final adjustments you inevitably have to take them off which results in numb hands.

Do that once or twice and the hassle of changing over tires will sound like a treat :)

Since your bus is an E350 winter tires are easy to get. It'd be a different story if you were looking for 11r22.5 winter tires.

The Nokians are great tire but I think they only go up to SUV sizing.

On a related but different topic does anyone have auto sanders? Do they work? I have auto chains on the drives I was wondering if mounting sanders is front of the steers could help with braking on both axles when going straight and prevent the front axle from sliding sideways on ice. I don't plan on driving when its really icy but sometimes it can sneak up on you unexpectedly.
