Re: Whitey The Toy Hauler
That is one FINE looking bus.
Is the bathroom a wet bath, that is the toilet is in the shower stall, or is it just a 1/2 bath?
That rear garage is finished out so nice I was wondering if you...

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
It's been a while since we've heard from Ol Trunt. I hope he's just been too busy working on his bus to post anything. His project was an ambitious one yet it was coming along nicely. I'd been...

Re: 1983 GMC Ward 66 passenger (Bigasspimp Mobile)
I've always thought those air flaps were an intake scoop for a vent located by the driver. Could also be a fresh air intake for the front heaters, like what would normally be hidden under the cowl...

Re: 1983 GMC Ward 66 passenger (Bigasspimp Mobile)
It might be worthwhile to post some pics of that door, even if it was a sloppy install. Someone here with experience might have suggestions on how to salvage it so you don't have to tear it off and...

Re: 1935 Chevy school bus
The design is amazing and way more complicated than I would even think of trying to build, yet I am sure it will work. That said, I am curious about the motor taking up part of the step well. Any...

Re: Tourtech Bus - 1997 International 3800
Really cool idea. I've played keyboards with a number of local bands and thought of building a similar bus many times. What always discouraged me was the fact that I would end up paying for...

Re: 1983 GMC Ward 66 passenger (Bigasspimp Mobile)
If possible, I'd like to see some photos of how the previous owner installed that RV door. It looks like another nice piece of work that you don't have to fool with and I have to assume some metal...

Re: 1983 GMC Ward 66 passenger (Bigasspimp Mobile)
Your bus looks like a good find. While the previous owner's window skinning job left a lot to be desired, they did get a lot of work done for you. Since you were able to reuse the sheet metal I'd...

Thanks for filling me in on the extensive backstory. Its quite a project, but since you seem to have the skills, tools, and most importantly the time to work on it, I know it will turn out great.

This has been a great thread to read, and great pics too. I have a few questions though because it all starts out with the project well under way.
I assume you started with a 35 Chevy skoolie and...

Re: 1974 Model 05 Silver Eagle
I sometimes stay at campgrounds which don't have a dump station, and while there may be one in the area, it is too far to travel or roads are too rough if towing one of those blue tote or turd tanks....

Re: 1974 Model 05 Silver Eagle
I've seen Jake's macerator/disposal design and like it a lot because it is clever and cheap. While he says the pump head is good, I think he just pumps a long distance over flat ground, so in a...

I'm really surprised there is a toilet on that bus. An ex-con I worked with long ago told me about a ride he had on a prison bus. One man per seat, with one ankle chained to the leg of his seat. ...

Skoolie sighting near Cincinnati
Driving home from work yesterday (10/03/11) I saw a skoolie heading north on 275. Mostly original yellow with many windows blanked out with what looked like white metal panels, and a window air...

Re: 1974 Model 05 Silver Eagle
I like the studio apartment concept. For safety though, not to mention legalities, you really need to get that propane tank outside. Should be easy enough to install it in one of the baggage bays...

I'll let someone else advise you on the diesel engine itself, but you may consider draining or siphoning out the fuel tank and starting with fresh. Maybe blow out the fuel lines with compressed air...
