Here's the seats I put in my bus. They were from a GM minivan. I extended the legs. I remove the drivers seat when camping and our kitchen counter extends to the windshield.

Do you have access to a pole building the bus can fit in? If so you could use a couple come-a-long's and straps to lift it.

Re: pressurized water system

That's how they did it in some old campers but as the tank filled from a garden hose the air inside was automatically pressurized as it filled. I actually have one of those old tanks but it wasn't...

Re: pressurized water system

I have setup similar to what a house with it's own well would have (just smaller scale):

1. Pressure activated pump (ShurFlo)
2. Pressure tank for pressurized storage

Most (or all) RV's go...

Re: Is this a good idea, Toy hauler conversion already done

My '88 Blue Bird with a 8.2L Detroit Diesel and an Alison 545 gets around 8.5 MPG when I'm hauling my IH Scout II inside. I have a top speed around 60 mph (loaded or empty).

Thanks for the input. I've thought about just hitting it with a hammer directly but the service manual says if you do you could do some damage. The plate does look banged up a bit so I'm assuming...

Re: Awnings

I like that idea, it would look pretty good if you could find material other than your basic plastic tarps. Might have to go to a big fabric store to see what they have.

Re: New door... would 32" exterior steel or fiberglass work?

Ok, here's the latches I used to secure my door while driving (sorry it took so long...I almost forgot). I have one on the top and one at the bottom of the door. When latched it pulls the door snug...

Re: New door... would 32" exterior steel or fiberglass work?

I installed a 32" Emco storm on my bus. No cutting required. I did have to add extra latches to hold it closed when going down the road. There's quite a bit of vacuum right there and pulls quite a...

Re: USF Scoolie HELP more power DT-466 swap???

There's also water injection but I believe your engine has an aftercooler so I'm not sure how much water injection would help.

It could also be your alternator. If the battery voltage is not up around 14 volts while the bus is running then I'd suspect the alternator (many auto parts stores will test for free). If that is...

Re: 1990 Thomas Diesel Pusher

If you are not starting the bus below freezing then one battery should be fine. I've been running one battery in my bus for a few years now (also a 8.2).

I don't think you want to put re-treads...
