I just did mine I just unhooked the hoses from the compressor and remove the condenser.
Remove the wire at compressor it will just spin like a pulley.
You could leave it like that And consider it...

Well my bus is an Arizona bus and I have crawled under it and found no sign of rust .
No rust around around bolts that held down the seats no ware.
.and since I'm 77 I'm not going to worry about it.
