I do get that. On one hand, the 2 trucks I did this to are destined to be replaced in 2 years. This will be a big experiment. In an urban area, they don’t stay on the pedal for too long anyway. I...

I've wanted to do a swap like that for a long time. Granted, it's only 170hp now, but if you crank up the power any, that combo of transmissions will grenade. I would highly suggest an RTO6610 if you...

I'll add a few pennies of thought to the mix. For all the mechanical injected rigs out there: Certainly do hike up the power some, but nothing crazy. The 5.9 or 8.3 Cummins, Ford 6.6/7.8, IH (360,...

Yes and no. The later mechanical 466, the NGD, shares most parts with the early 466E(95-04). So much, that you can swap the head, timing cover, and pump to convert to mechanical injection.
As far as...

If it's a DT360, there's a 90% chance it's an AT545 Allison.
I vote to change the rear gears, and put in a better trans.....and hike up the power.

Re: want just a bit more speed
To go from 55 to 70 is a lot of rpm increase. You need the gearing to allow going that fast, along with the computer program to let it hit 70+.

Re: want just a bit more speed
The older MT643/653 do have a lockup converter. Still not overdrive, but a whole lot stronger than the AT545.

Actually, a 3208 in marine trim was rated up to 475hp, for some crazy reason. Not sure if they made it much past 100 hours that way. If you can get it to stay cool, and not fog out an intersection...

Re: 5.9b or 6bt tune and performance
It fuels harder to the point of shifting, and you can carry each gear a couple more mph. If it shifts at 2400, and the engine can rev to 3100, it needs a kickdown cable adjustment. It makes a...

Re: 5.9b or 6bt tune and performance
Yes, the gov springs will make a difference with an auto. It likely wont on an otherwise stock truck. You need more fuel and timing to get to use the extra rpm. Every little bit helps, and it...

That pull tab is to shut the engine down. It's a replacement to the shutoff solenoid. A little strange at first, but that's one less thing to go wrong.
That humming could be an electric water pump...

Re: performance chip for 95 International?
The electronic 466(E) started in later 95, and was full production in 96. You could actually still get a mechanical 466 in 96 & 97 everywhere but CA.
If it's mechanical, gaining power and mpg can be...
