Wonder if you could put some sort of protection inline? Like a GFI or a fuse, some sort of safety device, but in technical terms that I know not of. :)

Hmmm...I dont believe this stuff to be rubber. Looked to be a heavy vinyl. They had to use a wood mallet to whack it together so it would lock.

Is yours flexible? This are pretty stiff tiles.

Now if all goes well, that tire wont ever have to come down. Good thing about those setups is even if it gets good and rusty, it will still work.
