I'm thinking that fittings loosen up over time and with vibration. Propane lays low if it escapes the piping or heater and into the interior.
Every time your panel livens up or is shut off there...

Not sure where you live but if that propane heater gets used much, the fridge will have to work extra hard in that configuration. Not sure I would put a panel so low either and alongside a propane...
