1946 Sunbeam S7 Motorcycle

1946 Sunbeam S7
Engine and trans is 1997 BMW boxer oil head
still have the original transmission available
The engine uses a dynatek ignition that runs off TDC on the crank
Two mikuni 42mm carbs
The front fenders off a Harley and some of the tins have been
modified to fit the engine
The problem is the engine spins opposite of the final
drive so it go's backwards
The solution would be to get the final drive gear cut opposite or just
find a BMW wheel and modified it to fit

I want to sell it to fund the purchase and conversion of a bus

Still titled as a Sunbeam. Engine doesn't change the make. But yes I did have to customize it.

Well Claydball if you want it I'll sell it to you and keep the drive train. Then it would be a sunbeam motorcycle with the trans. In Pa it's legal.

C'mon, now... Let the guy try to sell his bike in peace. Its certainly legal, and there are tons of bikes out there with different engines. Harleys come to mind...
Just because you don't like the bike doesn't mean you should knock it.
I could take that bike's title to the tag office and walk out with it legally titled if I bought it.
Its not like the guy is saying "100% original Sunbeam for sale".

FWIW I think that bike is cooler than anything that motor ever came in from the factory.

Yeah I just through it up you never know. I'm looking for a full size bus I like the tc2000 or the All Americans. But I like anything for the right price. And of course I'd like to find one with a Cummins. I know the engine pretty well.

Thanks! Its not something I'd like to part with but you know priorities. Plus I build a lot of bikes just not as COOL!

to clarify. i do like the bike. i would ride it as a daily driver. was only trying to help. was in the motorcycle business over 30 years. pre 69, you had title on engine numbers because there were none on frame. if engine numbers were changed, ya had to register as custom and have popo do physical inspection. of course, some never mentioned the number change and just went to dmv as if it still had oem cases. there is the problem, get into another state and when trooper bends over to inspect for case numbers that match the title......jail sux and so does seeing your motorcycle swing from back of wrecker.

on the harleys you mention, if it is registered as a hd, and you have to replace the engine, the new one comes with mso. the mso is carried along with title as proof of being legal. but, that would be for post 69 motorcycles. pre 69 must have original numbers to be titled as manufactured. if you get the new engine from hd, they require return of the original cases and they are destroyed.

so, not bashing, not gonna argue, was just trying to help.
