Hehehe... I have more than 2 months invested under the hood and associated running gear!.. and it was running when I brought it into the shop!

Hope it still runs when I am done... fix it till its broke, right?..

Might have helped if I started with a bus that wasn't rapidly approaching 50 years old... ha!... but even on a newer rig in my price range... there would be some wrench time regardless.

Either you're wrenching on it or you're paying someone to do it. The grass is always greener on the other side of the road as far as improvements.

THAT is a sweet little bus. If it looked that good when you 1st bought it, and ran, at all, you did good. Do you know what the dry weight of your bus is? I'm thinking about a short bus, and wonder what I'm looking at, in case I want to tow it home on a trailer.

I have the weight from the trip home... Required to stop at Alaska scale just this side of the border.. DMV gave me a receipt for the scale in order to get my title...

The workers at the scale looked at me pretty funny when I pulled the "short bus" up on the scales... "you know short buses don't have to stop at the scale.." guy said on the loud speaker...

I will look it up exactly, but with 2 people, tools, camping gear, cooler, spare tire...
If memory serves... 9,000 lbs and change... Under 10,000 was the detail needed for the title...

9540 on the scale... with 2 people and gear... 3 bus chairs, plywood platform..
Dry weight estimate empty: 8,600lbs..

She's short, but THICK.... hehe... "traditionally built"....

Thanks, much, for the info. What I'm looking at is about the same size
(25 passenger)bus, and my guess was that it weighed about 8k. Now to check the trailering limit on my Z71 GMC. It handled my 28' Avion trailer fine, but the bus might be pushing the limit.
