BUS IS MECHANICALLY SOUND. DRIVEN FROM NM AND AROUND CENTRAL TX!
My partner and I purchased our dream skoolie (full length skoolie with in October of 2024 after dreaming about the flexibility of skoolie life as creatives in the U.S. We spent 6 months having the skoolie professionally upgraded by our friends at Auer's RV and Fleet Maintence in Austin, TX. Our goal was to be as self reliant as possible. So after making sure the bus was mechanically sound, we started off completely upgrarding the existing solar system by adding additional solar panels on the roof bringing the total to a whooping 15 PANELS and choosing to go with a premium lithium battery bank (1400Ah)! Next we prioritize safety, installing a 360 external security system, new RV door, and having all the living systems on the bus checked, cleaned, and upgraded. Finally, we made the skoolie our own by adding some homey touches like converting the bunks to closet space, paint, and shelving for our home library.
We planned to spend at least a year on the road so we made to sure the skoolie was road ready! We were right in that this lifestyle is perfect for us! Unfortunately as things shift in the U.S. politically, we find ourselves wanting to prioritize travel abroad immediately We are currently living the bus in just outside of Austin, TX while we wait to start our next adventure!
