I just bought a 1999 International 3800 with DT466E/AT545 and I am having a hard time finding out which filters to buy. I am replacing all filters and fluids so I know when they've been last changed/flushed. I don't have access to the bus at the moment, because it's at the mechanic's. The mechanic is doing these changes for free as a favor provided I provide the correct parts Monday.

I've been searching for 3 days. I do not have the original owner's manual, and so I've tried to look via AutoZone, Amazon, Google, WIX, Donaldson's, forums, here, Facebook, Reddit... and none of the PDFs I've found are the OEM owner's manual or tell me this.
WIX shows 51799 for oil filter,
33719, WF10149, 33403 for fuel (surely there can't be three?)
24197, 24206 for coolant
No info for transmission filter.

Donaldson's shows:
P533235 Air
P552071 Coolant
P551318 Fuel
P550367 Oil
No info for transmission filter.

Midwest Bus says https://midwestbusparts.com/product/allison-trans-filter-kit-t112/ is the transmission filter... can anyone confirm?

I've found that it could be anywhere from 7.5-9 gallons of oil, 3.5-7 gallons of coolant, and 5 gallons of transmission fluid... but am unsure if I'm even in the ballpark.
Can anyone help? Point me in the right direction on any of this? It's weird that WIX has several and Donaldson's has 1 per... I am not a mechanic, but I've been reading anything I can find about my bus and most sources agree there are 2 fuel filters (one for particulate and one for water), 1 oil, 2 coolant, and 1 transmission filter.

Thank you in advance!

Forget everything you have said and tried...

Call the international dealer parts dept, have your full vin number handy, tell/ask them for a line set ticket which is the "build sheet" for your bus.

On that it will have the engine serial number along with the transmission serial number.
The line set ticket is free, they will not charge for that. You need this!

Once you have the engine serial number ask the dealer for the correct filter numbers and cost. You don't have to buy it from them, just get the info.

Basically, when you buy engine parts, having the serial number will get you the correct parts. They do vary from year to year so having the serial number will ensure you are doing the right thing.

Forget buying or asking napa, and all the other parts stores for parts identification....they are all
i-dots...nah...they just do not have the detailed info like the International stealer does.

also, you can't buy a tranny filter until you absolutely know for sure what tranny you got in the bus.

The line set ticket will tell you this and much more. Consider it the birth certificate of the bus, in detail!

Won’t work for me. My engine doesn’t have a serial number. Not on file or on the block. I’m starting to think my engine was a prototype.

The ECM doesn’t have a serial number either. International never had one on file either.

The engine stamp is blank on the serial number area

You can also pull the build sheet from OnCommand if you're slightly tech savvy and want to do it yourself.

As everyone else has said, local auto shop stores aren't good with commercial vehicles, their databases aren't as detailed, you're going to have to go through big rig shops with your VIN, engine and transmission serial numbers to get parts, or look up the part numbers yourself in OnCommand and order part online.

Thank you for the information. Do you know what number to call? International doesn't seem to have a customer service phone number, and when I search online it takes me to companies charging $20-40 for the line set ticket, and it takes 6-8 weeks to get.

Before I bought the bus, I had called the dealer nearby and they used the VIN to find the transmission-it is an AT545.

I appreciate your help.

Local dealers can do this better than national customer support.

THIS WORKED! Thank you so much!
