Hi all,

I'm Jake. Glad to be a part of this group! Searching for busses and I'm considering this.

1999 THOMAS MVP SAFE-T-LINER DIESEL PUSHER
87,000 MILES GOVERNMENT OWNED
5.9 CUMMINS DIESEL
ALLISON AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

Any thoughts, suggestions, concerns?

A nice platform with many pluses.

First, it appears as if most of the seats are already out.

Second, it isn't yellow.

Third, it has transit windows with tinted glass.

Fourth, it has the high headroom option.

Some minuses:

First, it has fixed transit windows that do not open. Unless you keep the coach A/C (bad idea that is very expensive and very inefficient) or change out the windows you will have no ventilation while going down the road.

Second, the 5.9L is a good little engine. That bus is going to be huffing and puffing pretty hard when it gets up into the mountains, particularly if you pull along a toad or trailer of any kind.

If the price is right I don't know how you could go wrong if the pluses outweigh the minuses for you.

Good luck and happy trails.

Ah come on Vanpo.....out with the price. It's part of the initiation into the skoolie world.

You tell us the price and we either tell you what a great find or we get to tell you your an idiot (in so many words), usually a lot of words, especially around the innards of the bus.

:peace:

GSA buses, IMO, are pretty much the best you can get without buying a brand new bus off the lot. They're contract-maintained (no knuckle draggers wrenching on them, and I say that with all the love in the world), low miles, and almost zero rust. The next best would be USAF/USAFR/ANG serialized buses for most of the same reasons.
