This Is How You Sell a Bus

You find a buyer and set a price before actually buying the bus for sale. I looked at it on Wed. and told them I would make a decision by Mon. before they relist it. I listed it on CraigsList here and have a buyer who can't come look at it with his mechanic. His offer was to pay for it sight unseen and have me deliver it to him 300 miles away. If it makes it 300 miles, in his mind it will be worth the asking price. I told him, pay for bus, fuel to deliver and a rental car for me to get home and a little something for me, $2900 total. Payment in full before I leave the driveway. I was leaning towards not buying the bus because my daily driver has issues that need immediate attention and will eat up some spare cash. But this deal is a no brainer.
I've had 3 other offers on the bus, all Nigerians who want to pay with a cashiers check.

So the buyer is good with my proposal with everything other than forking over $3k and not being guaranteed delivery. What would you guys think would be a fair compromise. There has to be something in it for me if they change their mind after a 300 mile delivery.

A written contract is pretty golden isn't it? If his condition is to pay you if the bus makes it I'm pretty sure he will legally owe you the money if it makes it. Having to sue him would be a pain though.

If I got roughly half the asking price in my bank account with a clear enough emailed contract I would probably take the risk.

My stepkid used to turn over cars this way. Put in Georgia you only allowed do I think it's three or four a year or else you need a dealer license.

Assuming it's the same with buses.

I think it is 6 cars before needing a license. He offered a $500 deposit, I countered with $1000. He said he couldn't afford that and that it would be next weekend before he could come for it. This is why it needs to be a bigger number. He's good with the delivered price, but can't "afford" the down? He's still good with the $500 deposit to deliver it, or come and get it next weekend. The $500 I would need to be non refundable. But if I call to secure the bus on Monday and don't pick it up till later in the week, I can wait for them to come on the weekend for it. They are coming from your town.

LOL. If you can't afford a thousand can you afford to buy the bus? I don't think I would come down here for that.

Although $500 round trip non-refundable it's pretty decent money. Let me know if you come down here though. We can go get a burger some place.

I wouldn't mind meeting him either I think, if he's local and buys a bus.

I really think if you bought it and spent an hour cleaning it you could move it on Facebook pretty fast in the skoolie groups for that price.

Disappointing

So I go pull the new Schumacher charger off maintenance mode on the house batteries on the Genesis to charge the battery on the TC2000. Pull the ground cable and find this surprise. Have no idea why. Batteries are at 11.8v (4-6V)

This was a stumper. Had a buzzer on the left side of the driver going off. I went to disable it and went to the side electric panel outside and could not for the life of me find a buzzer, even though I could feel the vibration in the area of the buzz. The vibration search ended up at the armrest, and under it was the buzzer. Any Bluebird owners seen this here?

SOLD, at least I think it is, they showed up with no cash, on the way to the bank to get some.Sold for $2650:dance:

Premature, guy just called and said all he could pull out of the ATM's was $2500, would I take that? Nope, better luck next time. I hate selling stuff, or dealing with buyers who want to beat you up.

Wait, he just texted and asked if I take Venmo. I told him I take PayPal, so he can do the balance that way. He agreed, so all is not lost yet.
Lady bugging me all week on the motorcycle and text last night to say she's no longer interested, her boyfriend wants a bobber. She was suppose to come at 9am today to buy it.

I'm trying to figure out what kind of ATM lets you withdraw $2500! My bank's limit is about $300 at one machine, not sure if there's a daily limit or number of machine visits. Wither way though, congrats and sorry you have to deal with online buyers!

It's $300 at a time, you can use it multiple times a day until you reach the banks limit.
Dealing with the online buyers is my choice, it's just not always a pleasant deal.
