Could someone please tell me if you have two ac units on your bus. One in the back, one smaller unit on the side halfway up to the front. I have never heard of anyone either keeping one or even both before. My bus has a wc lift which I want to retrofit, so I can store a motorcycle when not in use. That means a wall will be separating the rest of the bus from the rear ac. Someone suggested instead of getting rid of it, run ductwork from the ac, through the wall. It also possible to find an alternative source for the unit besides the engine. The smaller unit can be setup where it's attached to front over the driver's seat. Is that feasible or would it be more practical to get rid of it. What does it entail.

I have 2 buses and both have dual engine driven air conditioners. My short bus has a front+rear, my big bus has left+right halfway back. I wouldn't have considered a bus witout AC.

my 2000 thomas has front and rear ac units. I plan on removing the rear one and putting a 110 minisplit in its place. i will try to keep the front one for use while driving, and putting a temp divider so it only has to cool the front. my local mechanic has agreed to discharge the rear ac lines for free so i can remove it. not sure what the cost will be yet to have the front ac tuned up/recharged.

both units are completely independent of eachother.
