I need some help. The bus was gutted and rear AC and heater was disconnected. I removed the wiring and panel above cab. I checked that the bus started each time I removed a wire, but neglected to see if the dash AC and Heater worked each time. Never thought those would be connected into the panel above. I found in another post that removing the CR and CLR connections would stop the heater and AC. Does anyone know how I can rewrite these from the dash to get them to work again?

I'll leave this for the experts here, but when I disconnected mine, similar AC/heater, mine still kept working. I think I just dead-ended the wires before they went to those devices, sealed them with heat-shrink and left them in the overheard section and up under the dash, where my aux heater controls were. You could, perhaps, rebuild what you took out. Mine is a similar model too, '05 GMC 3500, with a Corbeil coach.

Also, because Collins is still in business, you might be able to holler at them and get the schematics so you can trace where things go.

Good luck!

my wifes 04 express collins body had dash AC and it had two bulkhead units that were gone when i bought the bus. the CLR CSR and C? relay is where the command for dash AC came from and of course i didnt know that at the time either. i put the parts from a suburban condensor in front of the radiator and a compressor and got the hoses from parts geek for an express and use a toggle switch to command on and off.

Sorry but I'm still trying to understand what to do. I understand adding the toggle switch, but won't the existing condensor and compressor work without adding another?

I have a 2009 Collins Express 3500. I basically did the same thing on mine, just disconnecting all of that wiring for the rear AC and heat. I can confirm that the dash AC still works, but I have not tested the dash heat. I have no reason to believe it doesn't work though.

When I got my bus I contacted Collins and they did provide schematics for my particular bus.

I can send those over if you want to have a look. I haven't looked at them in a while, so I don't recall if the wiring for that rear AC and heat was on there, but it probably is.

Edit: link to the ac schematics
