Hello all! Thanks for the add. I’m located in Northern BC, Canada. About 5 months ago we started looking at doing a van conversion but we wanted something with 4x4 capability as we primarily live and play in the north :) We looked at many vans and options but came to the realization that a van just didn’t offer us the space we required.
Through lots of research and discussion our interests evolved into a Skoolie or shuttle bus, as it offered us the living/ storage space we were looking for, but I was still wanting to find a 4x4 (no matter how rare they seemed to be!). After looking far and wide for months I finally found the “perfect” vehicle for our needs just 8 hrs away.
After lots of research and planning I arranged airfare and time at a local shop to have it looked over and all the fluids/ filters changed before purchase. Once satisfied that it was what I wanted, I pulled the trigger and became the proud new owner of my 2010 Ford E-450 Starcraft shuttle bus with a Quigley 4x4 conversion (4x4 hi & low, manual locking front hubs and a decent sized lift lol). This things a beast! It’s has a V10 gas engine, 5 speed auto and 4.56 gears. Around town it gets decent mileage and it does ok on the hwy (if speeds are kept reasonable ;) I love this thing! It even has a 36” deep x 96” wide rear garage with access from the interior and exterior.
We don’t plan on full timing in it but we do plan to use it for lengthy travel and camping year round. We’re putting together a to do list and hope to have the conversion complete by June. I’ll start a build thread once we have stuff to post.

Well, a belated congratulations on your find.

That's a clean looking bus. Are you planning on insulating and doing the whole build or more the camper for weekends?

wow what a great looking bus!!! one of the airport parking companies in columbus used to run these exact shuttles.. they were quiet, warm N cool, and rode nice.. they swore by the V10s. after their debacles with diesel 6.0's , the unique feature being the garage area in the back for luggage instead of the usual interior racks.. the drivers liked them.. that company never ran a shuttle for more than 3 years.. they leased them on 3 year cycles so i dont know what the longevity of them is.. but they sure seem nice.
