22 years in The Barbie Dreambus

Hello, bus peeps!
I've lived in The Barbie Dreambus full time for 22 years this month, and it gets better every day. Putting in a new HEI distributor next month. The biggest project last year was a gorgeous little wood burning stove. And next summer I hope to tear out my old carpet and replace it with wood..

How long did it take you to convert it?

Just thinking of all the rent/mortgage payments you've saved in 22 years... very nice.

i'm gonna say it took 30 years to convert. Meaning hopefully i'll be done by 2028.


After all this time I still haven't installed a solar system. I'm re doing the shower plumbing this year. And I'd like to redo all my electrical wiring. And my floors. And, you know, lots of other stuff...

lol, yeah. when you own a home, the projects never end.

You'll get there. I really like that little heater too. I don't know if I'll have a good place for one, but that would be really neat to have.

Good old pre-80s GM buses. Can't beat them with a stick, can't kill them. I noticed you don't know what engine is in it, if you'd like to post some underhood pics of it, I'll be happy to help you identify it. More than likely it's a tall deck 366 gas V-8, but other options were available.
