that dog house came out really nice, have you set it on the floor to make sure your legs still fit in the cove?

+1 on the E-brake handle with the spin knob. I didnt see(or I forgot), does your trans have the drum on the back for the parking brake?

Guido beat me to it. Having owned several M35s, I can attest to the importance of having an adjustable parking brake Tango! AND they are super available......

Howdy All --- I will definitely take a look at that handle...I like what I see...Thanks!

And yes...I installed a big-ass, old school driveline brake on the back of my Allison. In fact, I wound up having to cut out and replace the main crossmember on the frame just to accommodate that sucker.

Hope to have the "adjustments" made to the doghouse this weekend for the actual fit. Still some welding and grinding to do in the hope it will fit around everything else. Gonna be tight. If all goes well (Pleeeeeze!) I will be adding heat & sound shielding inside & out then make a small tray/cupholder thingie to go on top of it all.

I have concluded that having to construct darned near everything on an RV/Skoolie from scratch can be somewhat time consuming.

After much to do --- Well...the sheetmetal shop just did an OK job. I wound up having to do a lot more than planned due to them missing some important details on my drawing. The outer lip on the doghouse was "supposed" to be cut back to about a quarter of an inch but they left it the same as the inner lip. Which meant cutting about a half inch off all the way around just to get it to drop in place. About five feet. Grrrrrrrrrr!

Here it is in place anyway. Just had to spend way more time than wished for.

And...I still have a lot of welding to do. This is simply positioned for fit which called for a lot of cutting, whacking and tacking.

Maybe by end of day on Easter I will have it ready for finishing.

Thanks guys...I just hope it still fits when I'm done putzing with it. The clearance going in and out is mighty close once the tranny shifter is in place.

Soon, the hassle of getting it to fit will be a memory and it will be painted and done and you will be scoffing at the next impossibility that you will make possible.

Thanks Rivet --- These days I'd be happy dealing with a few less "impossibilities". Spent all day Easter tweaking the doghouse. Must gone in and out 30 times and I'm still not done.

Oh well...back to work.

More Doghouse --- Well...I managed to get this sucker to actually fit in place today. Yea!!!

Easily had 1/32nd of an inch to spare with the shifter in place. Good thing as I was not in the mood to start over.

Just barely cleared the shifter going in and out but at least it is possible.

And...with just a couple of minor adjustments...

...the fuel supply rod (a manual replacement for the wonky solenoid) looks like it might work too.

Still need to sandblast, paint and install the seal...but definitely getting closer.

Thanks Guido...but I have discovered that thanks (once again) to the EPA...most sandblasting shops have either gone out of business or moved waaaayyy out of town. Life was so much simpler back when everything was dangerous but accessible.

Hey Tango! That set up looks AWESOME!!!!!! Kinda jealous, but not really. That Chevy is going to be more like a Frankenstein-mobile once you finish! She's really starting to take shape!
