2002 GMC 6.5 L diesel engine the oil pressure is hanging around 20. The engine was flushed and new oil and filter installed today.
The pressure is still around 20.

Is the next step a new oil pump?
Or is there something else that might improve the oil pressure ?

Thanks

The engine temperature is 200 degrees.
There is no tachometer so I don't know the rpms.
Can you recommend a good OBD sensor for monitoring the details of the engine including rpm?

oil pressures

from the reading I have done engine at idle, and oil up to temperature. 20 psi is normal. driving at speed cold, around 75-80 psi maximum. 50-75 psi oil warmed up driving down the road.

I had one that the oil pressure was terrible when cold but got better after warm up, intake screen was clogged with little wax balls from high paraffin Pennsylvania oil. Installed a pump and pick up and all was good. How is your oil pressure when cold? If it's good when cold and dives down when warmed up it could be the pump but most likely needs crank bearings. Not a bad thing, they might be worn quite a bit, as long as Mario isn't trying to peck his way out of the engine with a hammer.
