They get alot of attention, too. The haters invest more into Tesla, than any other brand of truck. Literally, everybody tells about them.

Haven't heard so much talk about an American truck since late '93, when Dodge introduced the new RAM 1500, replacing the tired '70s design being sold earlier that year.

In the year thats followed, Dodge converted alot of Ford & GM owners, while simultaneously attracting a new group of consumers, who had not previously owned a pickup.

when dodge came out with that new truck in 1993 it *DID* gain TONS of attention.. I was a 100% GM and International guy at that time (grew up with scouts and a 69 GTO.. my grandparents drove V8 impalas)..

I remember around work everyone talked about that dodge truck.. "it is bad as ****.. it looks like a SEMI!!"... totally new design from anyone else..

and pretty soon in a world of F150's and C10's were a huge number of dodges.. trucks i really nevern oticed till then...

over the years ive owned 8 brand new jeeps and 3 brand new Dodge Rams... while lee iacoca brought chrysler back from the dead wit hthe throw-away-lunch-bag K-cars (he did bring the convertible back to US production) (a dodge 600 convertible is a collectible K-car...).. that pickup brought them back int othe forefront as far as trucks go..

unfortunately now they are fading away... my 22 Ram lease is up in 3 months.. my love-affair with rams will be officially over... the 3 i have had have been fantastic reliable, wonderful, powerful HEMI powered trucks... sorry but no thanks a 3.0 litre twin turbo belongs in a BMW not in a pickup truck.. (a fanily member who bought a grand wagoneer as a mobile office rig.. {he liked my DEV bus but didnt wantto drive a bus}.. is on his second hurricane engine already and its got a wierd whine to it.. (prob another turbo... the first one ate its own turbo).. so no more rams for me (Hemi is gone)... not to mention a truck just like mine with no hemi is 9-11K more than it was (with a hemi) in late 21.. i dont need a truck that bad... I have a 2011 Vic on the way and will prob lease a Tesla Model 3 when my hyundai hybrid is done..

if the 70K cybertruck were a reality and I could get one within a couple months I would order one.. but not goin for 100K in a pickup. (tesla stated in their earnings calls this week that they are delaying the mid-level cybertruck trims in favor of the 100K+ models for now)...

the PD im getting my vic from let me mess around with their (govt grant) F150 lightning electric truck.. (its fun being able to speed without worry of a ticket).. it drives really nice(they were supposed to get a base commercial XL but ford sent them a loaded XLT) the extra weight makes it feel wierd in a center of gravity type way... so far the PD loves it as they soend so much time idling (which uses very little battery even with the HVAC on).. that it has done well.. it easily lasts a full shift with much battery to spare.. but nevertheless ill prob get a tesla Model 3 simply because of all the techie geek features in it...

I know everyone here on skoolie is anti electronics, anti EV, anti computers, anti multiplex, yada yada..

but I have lived electronics, computers, and mechanics my whole life.. i was born in dec of 68.. by the time i was 8 i knew how to solder wires on circuit boards... age 11 I was programming in BASIC and assembler.. my high school years were hacking and modeming and learning. to circumvent telecom systems (now i build telecom.. go figure).. I was tearing apart TBI and TPI systems by the early 90s editing timing and fuel tables.. converting carbed stuff to EFI while all the old school hot-rodders laughed at me because I kept or added A/C to EVERYTHING) :) so this stuff along with EV and its tech stuff.. the cybertruck with its totally odd-ball looks peaks my interest. (hello I drove a candy apple red school bus to coffee today...) ..

That explains a lot. But.... how do you feel about plastic?
