9kw Peak, 7kw running Champion Dual Fuel Generator

How much power do you need?

Fuel consumption on that thing is horrible

Spend the extra money for an inverter generator like a honda eu3000, runs up to 20 hours on 3.4. Gallons

champion generators are getting very good reviews, the new 3100 inverter is giving honda and yamaha some decent competition, is half the price, and comes with remote start, I have a china 3000 inverter mounted in bus, its a p3 I got it at napa, if I painted it red I could have called it a honda, its been almost 5 years, and 250 hours and no problem plus has remote start. I wish I could afford a honda, but so far so good with my china generator. On the rv sites there is lots of positive talk about champion generators, but beware there is lots of crap out there.

I have the previous version (gas only), works fine but very loud, every time I use it I tell myself if is worth it because of the noise I'm planning to mount it under my RE BB to power AC air when on the road.

Only reason I bought the honda is that it is the quietest one made, yes it was expensive, but I like quiet, the champion inverter will do the job and use much less fuel than the one posted and be much quieter

I bough a gas only champion form my local canadian tire for $350cad. It's a smaller 3500/4000 one but it runs every thing i want. I am very happy with it, although it only has 15 hours on it so far.
I had a small 1200 watt champion that I put 900 hours on and it was doing quite well before it was stolen....it was used to run the fridge and light at the cottage when the power went out.

Very pleased with my Champion 3500/4000w. Quiet exhaust!

The only reason I am looking at this is because it is set up to use propane. It was for a backup not for the bus. Stale gas wouldn't be an issue with propane and conversion kits aren't cheap. As far as the Honda EU3000, the price is 3-4 times the price. I like quite too but not that much. My question is specifically about the $599 price for a propane powered 7K generator.

i have the same gen as Hank, the champion 3500. limited use on it but it runs fine so far.

I also use a champion 3500.

We use it on job sites, ect. Not as noisy as everyone thinks.

I just place it 50 to 100 feet away, and set it behind a tree, truck or something to reflect the noise.

It seems to always start, and I have not had a issue so far.

I will be getting a Honda inverter generator one day though.

I scored a "post hurricane" deal on a little Honda 3000 eu. One hour on it and almost half off the price. Having owned gen sets before, I still cannot believe how quiet this sucker is. And one factor people seem to forget is that because they have the inverter built in, you don't have to spring for one separately. Plus, it is CARB compliant which will keep the Kalifornia Parks people happy.

I checked it out using my 8000btu window unit A/C and even on start-up, it never came off "Economy idle".

So the quality on the Champion seems to be pretty good from the posts here.

In my opinion they are the best after Honda and Yamaha.
Generac is way too overpriced for basically being an orange champion and briggs and Stratton generators always seem to come with very small mufflers.

I know! I am just damn skeptical about any reviews solely on a site that is trying to sell me stuff (read editing out bad reviews).

Costco is not like that. They have a forever return policy except for some items. They won't push crap if they will be taking it back.

Since generator purchase is large spending, I suggest anyone interested in their product talk to Champion, go over the spec and discuss your need with them, and get a feel for how they treat their customer.

Personally, my impression was bad, I've never heard companies representative bluntly accusing customer "cheating" for warranty repair program. Even if customer lies to save their money, it's quite offensive to hear speaking so negatively of their customer base. I don't own Champion product, only making inquires to get clarification of its specification.

Price of Honda and Yamaha is double or more, but once you spend some time with their company rep, you'll be convinced spending more money in front to get the services you deserve.

Speaking of Costco, they're the worst of retailers in the market. Personally, I don't much respect for anyone who has nothing better than starting their career in cart-pulling, yet acts like such authority, speak so negatively of customer behind customers. They tout their return policy, but when customers want to use its advertised program, they have real nasty why of treating customers. One time I heard, I have no idea why their employee talking to me with friendly gesture but with such negative tone, a employee pointing to other customer, saying, "you see that guy, he returned a hose after he used for his purpose." Costco employees need to get their act together, realize their social status isn't all that demanding.
