Greetings Skoolie community! I have been a lurker for the last three years and had the memory span to create an account last year. I am at Camp Lejeune, and will be moving back to SW Florida within the year. Once I get home, I will be getting a bus and building it at my parent's place with my lovely wife (she's all on-board for this BTW), before we head out to either UT or CO for school. Anyway, I'm done ranting. It is going to be an adventure and I will do my best to keep y'all posted. Oh and our buses name might be, "Savor It!" Cheers!

We got a bus!

Greetings everyone!

We finally did it! We bought our very first bus! She is a 1998 Thomas MVP Saf-T-Liner(pusher) 78 Pax (14 windows?), she comes with a CAT 3126, Allison MD3060, and air brakes. We will not be starting any crazy work until we move back home to FL. Until then we will try to knock out all of the boring stuff (ie. seat removal and panel removal) oh and i forgot to mention, she has SCREWS for interior panels!! So without further delay i will post the sacrificial pictures for your viewing pleasure...and more will be had soon!...and a proper build thread will be created

Offer for loaner tools is still there
I work on lejeune all the time and a man that works with me lives in sneads ferry so I can get them to you a couple of different ways if needed
Just pm me and we will work it out
I played marine also until 96 and am still stuck here?
If you do get out and have the chance to run where you want to be then go go go, I made the mistake of deciding to get on my feet better before moving back to Texas when I got out and feel like I have been stuck here since (work,money wise) our bus was originally built for us to move back home and live in while we built a house

I cut the side out of two 1-gallon oil jugs, and filled them both.

See the beauty of forums, is everyone has a different and still effective approach.

My misses works at a restaurant so big coffee tubs are available so long as i give the hosts a weeks heads up.

Thank you everyone for your input and support! I will be making a build page soon, I'm just about to get my plates and tag! Once that is done we will be taking out the seats and recycling them at Foss Recycling in Jacksonville. I have a question though: does anyone know where the wiper delay wires (two of them) hook up to? I found the wiper relay, but I can't figure out where they go...I'll take off the dash cover and take pics.
