I think this is a new insurance question... I live in MD, bus is registered and insured in MD. Everything was fine until the MVA (can't even call themselves DMV like a normal state) my insurance company asking to verify liability insurance. I have storage insurance as I'm not driving the bus. I have it parked on a military base so it has to have insurance. It does. It doesn't have all the state mandated minimums for liability.
Maryland charges a $150 fee plus $7 a day for lapses in insurance. You have to turn in your tags when you sell a vehicle or drop the insurance. I've been hit with a $600+ fine before. THIS STATE SUCKS. DON'T MOVE HERE. EVER!!
I want to leave the bus insured for storage only but keep it tagged. I have a feeling they are trying another money grab, so here's the question... Does anyone know what the insurance requirements are for the famous Vermont bus tagging? Anyone know about Michigan? I have a rental house in MI that I could use as an address.
