While gutting bus, I dropped the AC ceiling units to floor for panel removals. Prior to, each unit performed.

While on floor, i turn switches for power, i can hear a slight brief click / sound, unit never blows. Each unit does the same.

No visible wiring issue.

Any ideas?

One other thing I've noticed, is when the dome lights were removed, they were just unscrewed. Worked prior to removal of ceiling panels, but not after, and again, no visible wiring issue.

I've attached a photo of dome light style used for reference.

Is it possible that lights were grounded by way of screw into the panels, maybe same with ac?

Thanks.

Anything that is electrical and direct current requires a power supply and a power return.

Most items will use the vehicle chassis/ body as the power return or "ground".

With your items removed and hanging/sitting there, you've disrupted the ground or return path for the electricity, so they will no longer work.

Either attach a sufficient ground, or bolt them back how they were.

pics of the AC units will help diagnose them because there are many different designs.
they light you show is definetly grounded by the mounting screws.
which means if you plan on reusing then you need good solid screws into the metal regardless of you ceiling install.
good luck
