Thinking about mounting my rooftop A/C unit at the rear of the bus, anyone done it? My bed will be at the rear so I won't notice the decreased headroom back there, I am about 2" taller than the highest point of the roof so having the ADB box in the middle isn't really my fisrst choice.

Only problem I see is the noise from the AC unit. In my old motorhome we had 2 AC units, one in the front one in the rear. We ran the front one at night and the rear one in the daytime to get away from the noise.... It was quiet cool sleeping under the bedroom unit too... another reason we ran the front one at night.
A lot of people put the window units in the rear..... Have not heard anyone complain though....
Better in the bedroom than none at all.....

PS..... just a thought... If you have the FE flat nose you could mount it over the engine compartment??????

Thanks for the reply, not really concerned with the noise as we will have the generator powering the A/C unit anyhow. I was only concerned with getting cool airflow to the front, mind you it is a short bus.

we put in one of those portable a\c I drilled a 4 inch hole in the wall of the bus and vented the exhaust hose that way, works great, and no holes in the roof ,.
a\c is in our kitchen\living area.

We have a rooftop AC unit (standard 13.5K BTU RV unit) in the Class C (22 ft) it is in the middle of the RV and cools great... sometimes too great. I think it's noisy, David says it's not. But he's partially deaf. You do get used to the noise while sleeping. Kinda like how we got so used to my 30 day striking clock. If it stopped or we were away from home, we (the girls and I) had trouble sleeping because we didn't hear it striking thru the night.
