Hi there,

I recently purchased a 1986 GMC Minibus and I am in the process of renovating it into a mobile retail store. I would love any and all suggestions/tips/advise on the below:

- Lighting
- Speakers/sound system
- Generator
- Installing flooring (lamivate vs vinyl)
- Painting before interior and exterior
- LOCKS! I need to figure out a way to lock all doors. Really needing help here.

Thanks so much!

WELCOME ABOARD!!!

Got pictures? We LOVE pictures ... and it would help to see the size of it all.

I would love any and all suggestions/tips/advise ...

May I suggest that you pull up a chair and just start reading threads. Also, using the search function for specifics will help. This place is an entire garden of ideas.

But remember this, apart from the mechanical and the electrical, there really are not a lot of one-size-fits-all kinda answers when it comes to these things ... it's all up to you and your wants/needs. The only limits? The height of your imagination ... and the depth of your pocket.

What kind of store are you planning? Got enough head space ... for heads and lights and fans and stuff? You might want to do a search "headspace" "lights", "fans" and so on.

There's a lot to think about with a project like this.

Hello and welcome!
I am steward to a 1985 GMC :) and... i have been through Oakland lol

OK I've got some great locks on the front and rear doors, i will snap pictures and post tomorrow. A cordless drill, a handful of safety bolts from Home Depot, and a few holes are all it takes.

Looking forward to seeing pictures of le Bus!
(if it fails to upload , you may upload to another site and post the link)

Thanks so much for the warm welcome and advise. I have tried uploading photos multiple times but I keep getting an error message. The size of the photos does not exceed the max so I am not sure what is going on. Any suggestions?
