Much needed day off so decided to work on the floors of our new bus. Drove it around the block, backed it in and worked for several hours. Fired back up to go to the store and getting no pressure on the air gauge, chime going off and brakes are locked...I'm new to the bus thing and the forum, searched thru here a little bit but didn't find a direct answer. Any help??

I hope it's simple like a leaking valve and not a compressor. I had a valve that was leaking. I think it was $50 for the valve from Intl or close to that. It wasn't hard to install. Are you building pressure?

Doesn't seem to be building any pressure. But it happened in the course of driving it parking it and trying to drive it again in an hour or two..?

Basic course on air brake operation.

My guess is either your compressor is junk, the governor isn't allowing the compressor to pump air, or you have a large leak somewhere.

make sure you didnt toss the belt off the air compressor.. ive seen belts pop off sometimes when you shutdown a diesel engine.. esp if it momentarily spins backward for a 1/2 revolution or so..

There's likely a shop air connection hidden somewhere on the chassis.... You might even be so lucky that it would have a male connector on it, easier to identify and ready to plug the hose from your air compressor into it (pay attention to whether it's the industrial or automotive shape, and whether your hose has a compatible female connector). These ports are used for airing up and releasing brakes when the regular air system can't be used. If you can find a shop air connection and try pressurizing from a portable compressor, you'll better able to determine whether you have an air supply or an air leak problem.

an air governor is cheap and easy to try and fix......

the rest are tougher and more money.
