Hello everyone!

I know some things can work one minute and not the next. I literally let the brakes pressure up, backed up and turned off. When I went to pull forward again about an hour later, I can’t build pressure and a Hiss from the front. I’ve narrowed down the location, but could someone give me a bit of insight?

The device I’m pointing to is making the hissing, under, I can put my finger over an area that reduces the noise, then on the other side there is round knob with shallow fins, like you could turn it by hand?

I can’t get pressure above 60, so it’s not going anywhere.

Your help is much appreciated! See pics

That li'l silver/black gadget upon which you have a finger appears to be an "Air Compressor Governor", which basically has the job of turning on/off your air compressor. However, check the lines and connections to it first. They have rubber seals and such which can fail over time (rebuild kits may be available) but new ones aren't expensive.

I used to work at Freightliner, sold at least one every day. One of the quickest easiest and cheapest fixes you will do on this unit.

sure looks like a standard Bendix D2 governor.. I carry one with me..

mostr likely you will have a '120 off' / 90 or 100 'On'. meaning cutout is at 120 PSI and it will cut back in at 90 or 100. (both are common values and standard)...

mosty any big-truck style store Like Truck-Pro stocks them.. even some NAPA stores.. esp around trucking yards. has them..

when you get it, it will have some blank plugs you install in the unused ports, be sure to install the lines where they are now and bklankl plugs..
