I see several ideas about installing residential window unit air conditioners on a skoolie and ducting them to provide a/c throughout the bus. I like the idea since the residential a/c is cheaper than an rv unit, easy to replace if needed and pretty durable. Does anyone have pictures of units installed with ducting so we can get a better idea of how it can be done? I imagine mounting the a/c unit either in the back of the bus or underneath and fabricating a plenum box to mount and seal over the front of the a/c to direct the airflow. A run of insulated ductwork would then be attached to the plenum to carry the cool air to registers in the bus.
Am I on track here with the design? All ideas are welcome. Thanks.
