Airride seats

l should go in the "Classifieds" or Unaffilaited school bus stuff for sale
Nice seats, wish I had an extra $500.

$500 a piece is crazy...if you look hard enough you can get them for free or very cheap. Truckers and fleet shops throw out seats all the time, no reason to pay a flipper 500 bucks for one.

couple friends have mine have scroed big and cheap at school bus scrapyards.. near perfect Air seats.. and they will have the correct base to fit a school bus.. most new seats you have to buy an adapter plate to make a truck seat fit a bus correctly...

Semi air ride seats are almost always way nicer than anything found in a school bus....not sure why Bluebird/Thomas/IC always put the crappiest air ride seats available in all their buses when new.

Can you direct me to anywhere I can get a BRAND NEW air ride seat for free?
I can buy a gallon of sour milk for $.10, I'd be much better off paying $3 for fresh milk.

You could get a used air ride seat and have it profesionally redone at an upholstery shop and it would still be cheaper than a new air ride seat.

The base assembly (other than the bag) doesn't wear out unless you're like 500 lbs.

I understand what you're saying. You just can't compare old apples with fresh oranges. $500 is not outrageous for a new good air ride seat.

You can have one reupholstered and you still won't have a NEW seat.

True.
Not long ago I spent $1,200. on a new air ride with swivel feature, so $500. for what he has ain't bad...

I got a nearly new bostrom for a hundred a few years ago. Truck driver's yard sale. still had the tags on it.

These are real nice seats. The Sears Atlas is highly regarded.
If I had the cash AND a way to get one of these I'd love to buy one.
