The Allison has a lower 1st gear and a higher 6th gear (second overdrive) Will a 40' re type d skoolie ever be able to take advantage of the 6th gear - maybe on flat land? With 4.11 gears in the rear, will this setup have enough power for starting up, especially pulling a 4,000 pound trailer? Can the first and second gears in the 2000 be changed, lowered to allow for better performance in town? Or would a supercharger installed on the engine (in addition to the turbo) allow the engine to have more power at lower rpms?

if you want lower first and second gears you likely want to use an allison 2500 wide ratio (2500 PTS is the school bus model).. it gives you a 3.51 / 1.90. first / second ratio instead of a 3.10 / 1.81
