Hello everyone I have a 1994 international 3700 with the 7.3 IDI no turbo and the at 545 transmission. I'm in the process to swap the transmission for an Allison 2500 pts from a newer bus.

The problem I have right now, is that the bolt in the torque converter in the at545 are supposed to be 15mm but mi socket and wrench fell kinda loose (it has a bit of play room ) when in the bolt heat but 14 mm won't fit and either 9/16 tride (5/8 to is too big) I tried to do the 15 mm and round one and I don't know what should I do now.
Please help

Try taking a small strip of sand paper, and wrap it around the bolt, and try the 15mm wrench again.

So it should be wrench, sandpaper wrapped around the bolt, then bolt.

Try different brand of socket/wrench. Use six sided only.

I tried a wrench from harbor fright and a husky from home doped too and I didn't see any differences you think trying soothing like snap on would make a difference ?

Go look at “torque test channel”. And “ project farm”. On you tube university. Then buy just the sizes you need. I now use these two before I lay out money for new. I now buy used on almost every big item these days. ****, my last “ new “ car had 3,500 miles on it. Saved 7 grand. I digress. Big names don’t mean much anymore. Tires, for example. I don’t care about warranty, don’t care about price. I look for wet weather braking distance. I have spent thirty years watching, reading, and working with tires. I no longer spend hours checking reviews. Most of the time Michelin wins wet braking. The all season stuff, Michelin. Winter usually Bridgestone blizzak.

Point is I guess there are some folks out there who seem to do a very good job of evaluating. Most of your tools probably do the job you need. No point in spending a lot more. Check out evaluation and buy the wrench and socket.

Good luck, report back. Perhaps a day soaking in PB Blaster.

Sounds like you know what are you talking about. In I feel you I love shopping in Facebook marketplace.

I had a rounding off bolt problem on my ranger 6 months ago. I went everywhere locally to find six point wrenches. The only place that had them was Lowe’s. They are in the Craftsman isle.
None at harbor freight. Napa, or any other parts stores or hardwares
