Am I the only woman here? Surely not!

Hello and welcome from another woman going it alone! I haven't got a bus yet, but this sure is a great resource to learn about options, pitfalls and things to watch for, prepare and plan for. I'm in the downsizing stage myself, getting ready to jump on the full-timing wagon, ah, I mean bus when I finally get rid of all the 'stuff' that has been bogging me down for years.

Hi Ladies. Im a newbie lady bus owner too. Im having trouble finding insurance on my Schoolie in California now that I've bought one. Just a warning to check with insurance companies in your state before you buy one. I assumed it would be easier than this.

Oh! I could just cry. We have found the PERFECT bus. It ticks all the boxes and then some. The only problem is it's an ebay bus and we won't have the funds ready anywhere near in time to get it. :( Another will come along, right? These aren't SUPER hard to find, right? (40', flat nose, rear engine, diesel pusher, Allison transmission, storage). :/

1984 Thomas Cat Diesel Pusher Allison Automatic Trans No Reserve | eBay

There's plenty of better pushers out there. The NA Caterpillar 3208 is a solid motor for sure but it is very slow. Not as great as the ad suggests.

Look for 8.3 Cummins or even the smaller 5.9, both are much better motors.

And Ebay is not the best when it comes to prices, a lot of times the bidding will reach absurd levels.

Another single woman looking to buy and restore a short bus, or buy one already converted. Just starting research and stumbled on this forum.
