Hi everyone, new to this site and to school bus conversions. There is a lot of great information on here and lots of reading to be done. We plan to have our bus within a few weeks, 1999 72 passenger International 3800 and hope to build a Toy-hauler/RV. It will be a great family project. Planning to have the back section as the garage for bikes, parts, tools etc. The next room will have 4 bunks and closets. In front of this will be a small shower on one side and a small bathroom across from that. The front section will be kitchen / living area. The actual layout isn't cast in stone ( except the garage area via the back door).

I would love to hear from anyone who did something similar. I plan to keep the existing back door to minimize initial costs.

Hello MXBUS, and welcome. Sounds like a cool plan. I love the idea of a garage in the back. I've got a back door and a wheel chair lift to get things in and out of my garage. I've seen people make the entire back wall into a door so they could put rubber rafts inside. I like to have my wood stove in the garage area, but you need a pretty good fan to distribute the heat.

It's all about what works for you. We pay for any poor choices with remodeling costs, but it all works out in the end.
