Hi All,
I have my eye on a 71 passenger school bus (probably purchasing Monday) and I'm wondering if there are any skoolies in the Milwaukee/SE WI area that I could be in contact with regarding ideas and what has worked/not worked. I would love to see what some people have done in person to get ideas and actually feel the space if there's anyone that doesn't mind showing off their hard work. I know the YouTube videos are great but I'm thinking maybe they make the space look bigger than it actually is? I really want to keep my head out of the clouds on this and not make it too large of a project that is doesn't get done... just to be realistic, I'm not stomping all over my dreams or anything. ;) Looking to convert the bus to an RV for fun. I don't have specific travel plans for it. (yet!)
Thanks!!

I'm in lake geneva

I bet they love having a 1/2 completed skoolie there (resort town)....

Like you said about the youtube videos- the idea is to make the space appear larger using interior design tricks. Vertical lines on walls add height, horizontal lines (wood) on ceiling add length, lighter colors add space...

Roof raise really is what makes it an nice. 16" is sweet spot for me.

Awesome! Thanks Everyone!! Somewhereinusa and Greatestrr, I will see when I can get over both your ways. I'd love to see your buses! That would be great!! And, Rusty, I was wondering about a good roof raise height, so thank you! I'm a bit scared about the roof raising idea, but it seems many people do it and it works. I love the spacious open feeling!

Kindness rocks

I was wondering if anyone is still around from SE Wisconsin? I just picked up my new bus from TX. The previous owners began the transformation process, but I want to change much of what was started and complete it by winter if possible. It is a '91 AmTran chassis with an International engine.

What does everyone else have around here?

Welcome to the booby hatch!
We'll all be looking forward to see what you'll morph your bus into.

When you have a chance, fill out the bus' specs on your profile.
It'll simplify things if we all know what you've got, if you ever need an assist. [emoji111]
