Anybody have any scrap International bumper rail?

I just need a couple of pieces 2' long or so, with one end rounded (like the sections that are "broken" by the wheel wells, which is what this is actually for). Or if anybody knows where I can get some online. I found one place that has 8' sections for like $130 or something like that

I wish you luck in finding the rails. I have some from a Thomas ... but I learned a long time ago to not get rid of stuff from the demo until I am CERTAIN I will not need them. If you can determine our rails are interchangeable, then maybe ....

Rub rails? In our conversion we removed 2 of the 3 rails. They are just sitting and I have no use, but not sure how to reasonably get them to PA.

Oh wow, cool. I assume the 1989 bumper rail has the same cross-section as the 2003 Internationals? I can include a pic of mine (although my build thread has a bunch).

If you could cut the rails into, say, three-foot long sections and stack them in a box and mail them, I'd be happy to send you money for the shipping costs (plus whatever they're worth, or I could send you back something out of my collection of useless extra stuff). I don't need any full-length pieces, just shorter bits to replace a few dented-in pieces around one of my wheel wells.

I will go measure my bus this afternoon and see exactly what lengths I need and how many.

Cool just shoot me some pics with measurement and I would be happy to help out.

Here are the two pieces I need to replace (it's weird, I had the impression I'd need to replace more but these are the only ones actually damaged - and actually even the first one is probably salvageable as is):

So I need one 3-foot piece and one 2-foot piece, each with the beveled/rounded end by the wheel wells (if possible).

Thanks very much! I'll PM you my address and we can set up how I'll pay you for this.

The rub rails I have are vastly different. They are 2 round humps, those look more square. Sorry, I can post picks in a couple hours.

That bus of yours sure has a lot of rust. What’s your plan for remediation the floor?

Oh well, too bad. Thanks for offering.

Well, I'm rebuilding a large chunk of the floor around the wheel wells, so at least no remediation of that part is necessary (unless you count reconstruction as remediation). For the rest it's just weld patches where necessary and ospho and paint. The second-worst rust area in my bus was the rear and that's been fixed; once the floor is rebuilt the worst will be over. The weather is killing me now, though - it's not too cold to work but it's too cold to paint anything, and I need to pre-paint a lot of the new floor structure before welding it in. I'm actually looking around for some kind of heated inside work space that I can rent and paint things in.

I have a bunch of rub rail end caps that can be welded onto straight sections if you need them. Post a pic later to see if they are correct profile.

Thanks, I posted a couple of pics of the damaged sections earlier in this thread. The one that is the biggest problem is actually smashed up about three feet back from the end.

Here's what I have if anyone can use them.:thumb:

Shoutout to @DrDanger for sending me a nice piece of scrap bumper rail from his bus. I have everything I need now for the repair.
