Anybody on here taken a converted school bus into Mexico?

I see so many pig-headed posts on this thread, it makes me want a button I can push to bring back marc in exchange for these "clowns." At least he was entertaining in his foolishness and jerkyness.

Bigotry is Pigotry.

What do you have against "clowns"?

Nope... wrong once again. I'm sorry to inform you that I'm NOT your "ex" anything. I have absolutely ZERO tolerance for Bigots and/or Racist in all their varied sizes, shapes and forms. I wouldn't give them the time of day let alone MY time.

Fortunately, I can smell the putrid stench of hate and contempt that oozes from every pore of a closet bigot. An early warning signal to alert me well before they even enter the room to Grace me with their Devine presence.

The Fear and Loathing bigots exhibit towards perceived "lesser" cultures (only in THEIR mind) becomes even more apparent once they open their mouths and spew forth more venom and twisted logic for all to witness.

I'm not sure why you chose to drag your ex into your rant regarding your perceived superiority over "The Great Unwashed" ...maybe there is still unresolved dominance/submission issues there as well. I don't know anything about her, but apparently she had the good sense to pack up and leave and you seem to project that you are the FAR SUPERIOR ONE ... Once Again!

Now I know who you are. My ex-wife!
I liked you better when you were slurring out "I banged all your friends" prior to passing out & wetting yourself.

LOL

Reminds of a joke I heard awhile back...

Guy was cruising down the highway and a highway patrolman fell in behind him. Guy sped up and tried to get away. Finally pulled over. Patrolman asked him why he took off.

Guy said his wife run off with a highway patrolman last month.

Patrolman said "What's that got to do with it?"

Guy said "I thought you was him bringing her back"

Better be careful. You risk being labeled a misogynist for making a joke that includes members of the opposite sex.

I'm a "get off my lawn" kind of guy,

However, I will call you Ma'am or Sir when I greet you at the grocery store,

Not sure where that puts me in the PC world we live in,

I was raised on an Indian reservation in an agricultural region. 1/2 the population was native american, the other 1/2 hispanic, and then there was me. Up to 8th grade I could have counted the number of white kids I went to school with on one hand. ALL of my friends were one of the two aforementioned ethnicities, and the only time racism entered the picture is when I was the target of it.

Most of my Mexican friends were 1st generation citizens. Many of their parents were migrants, legal & otherwise. In the Arizona summers I was - just like in school - one of the rare handful of white faces you'd find working the fields right alongside them. So you can take your labels of 'entitled' & 'bigoted', and shove them where the sun doesn't shine. Anyone that knows me would find the notion I'm either to be laughably absurd.

Nothing I nor anyone else on this thread has said or implied regarding Mexico or the geopolitical situation the nation finds itself in was directed - in any way - towards the people of Mexico, Mexicans in general, or the culture. Unless you're defending the cartels, in which case I think quite a few of those Mexicans you pretend to care so much for might take offense. It is them, after all - who have had entire villages co-opted, family members disappeared, businesses 'taxed' out of existence - who are front-line witnesses to the corruption & violence you paint as a non-issue. Maybe when you learn enough Spanish you can tell them it's their fault for being in a bad neighborhood. I'm sure they'll appreciate your well-informed tourist perspective.

Before your last barrage of nonsense, you had a post count of 22, and a full 11 were insults. You've now surpassed 50%. If there's one truth I've learned over the years, it's that those who shout 'intolerance' the loudest, are often the least tolerant themselves. Not that tolerant is the appropriate word. You don't tolerate the people you love. And I love people based on who they are, not what they look like or where they come from. The people I tolerate - or in your case don't - are those that weaponize words like 'bigot' & 'racist' - pretty much the most offensive thing I could think to be called - to win internet battles or boost what must be a ****-poor sense of self-worth.

To everyone else on this thread, I apologize for this diversion, and for my part in side-lining the discussion. I should never have allowed myself to be dragged into the gutter. So if you want to get that parting shot in, maxx, go for it. I don't think you'll be able to top your borderline-schizo post above, but I have no doubt you'll try.

Wow, all this BS and hardly a single word about whether Pemex diesel is ULSD. Yes, it is - just look at all the late-model European buses there operating the First Class and Executive Class services that use exactly the same engines as in Europe, i.e. engines that need ULSD to meet Euro V and VI. (And those bus services make Greyhound here look amateurish and primitive.) I still wouldn't want to drive my bus or car there, not least of all because the Cuota tolls are damn expensive and the Libre roads are often narrower than I would feel comfortable driving my bus on.

I've travelled in many parts of Mexico and never once felt afraid - Mexico City, Toluca and Metepec, Cordoba, Orizaba, Veracruz, Tampico (obviously recently!), Xilitla, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Zacatecas, Cancun, and umpteen other places in-between. I'll take CDMX any day over most US cities. And in answer to the rants about the Mexican drug cartels, just who is ultimately using almost all those drugs, and where do the cartels' guns come from?

Gas in Mexico- A large majority of gas is collected and sold by “Huachicoleros”. Some estimates state that probably 70% of the fuel sold in Mexico is from illegal taps/huachicoleros. Sometimes huachicoleros will also leave taps open for the community(I wouldn't recomend these). "Tlahuelilpan pipeline explosion" was one case where huachicoleros left a tap damaged and open for the community use(or more then) 100 independent gas collectors were burned to death.

In 2018 Permex found 11,240 taps in the first nine months , or about 41 per day, Millions of gallons a day and Billions of gallons a year of Mexico's consumer fuel. "Legal" fuel is also out there on the market.

Whats at the station ? Whats in the 32 gallon trash barrel ? Is it cheaper to buy from trash bags ? Did anyone put water in it ? Low sulfur ?-Insert the Mexican shoulder shrug- Depends. Finding someone with a in ground tank and pump is usually the safest way to fuel up but might cost a bit more.

In Mexico they say “huachicoleros”, I would guess that some in the politically correct SoCal US culture would say that is “bigotry” and the translation needs to be ? "Marginalized Indigenous Cultural Misplaced Hard Workers" ?

Wow, can't say much about this post. A lot of unhappy campers here. So, to answer the question of the ULSD, it depends. ARCO just set up shop in Mexico and they do have it. Pemex stations may or may not have it. I know that because I talked with the managers of the stations. I bring an extra 80 gallons of fuel down when I leave the States. Been crossing the border for almost 40 years. Now...personally, I feel very safe in Mexico. I have a boat and house there and have never had any problems. As a matter of fact, I'm currently in Cancun with 8,000 other Deadheads enjoying an amazing concert weekend. If you don't want to come down, I don't care. We're all on this planet for whatever reason, let's all just get along.🍻

Well put. I don't think that he has been correct on any of his trolling. I stated to reply, actually pecked out another long winded post because he irritates me, then I realized that I was feeding the troll and deleted it. I decided that the only posts of his that I will read or reply to are the schoolie posts.

Do you say "Sir" or "Mam" when you are telling the to get off of your lawn? If you do, then I think that you may be PC as long as you don't add a curse word in there. Could be wrong.

oops... think you also have to avoid any name calling that refers to race, sex, or sexual preference too. I think its alright to refer to their age... at least calling them an old fart seems to be allowed. Not sure what the cutoff age is.

Amazing. I never heard of that but there is a lot of pics out there that back you up and a lot of them involve fires. Guess that explains a few things like why fuel is so high at the gas stations.

I'm kinda behind the times. The Gratefull Dead is still around? I thought that the were all really dead. I am pretty sure I read that Jerry Garcia died.

I do like Cancun and have had lots of good times there. I am afraid it is heading to some hard times.

Traditionally Cancun has had some very nice security system and they have protected the gringos like a heard of high class sheep. The ownership of Cancun is being challenged by CJNG there has been a lot of fights that are starting to leak into the tourist areas. I think the murder rate in Cancun 2019 was about 50to100,000 which is pretty high, getting into war zone level. Things are heating up and CJNG is deploying more troops there, so expect more heads and banners in 2020.

Cancun has also been seeing more and more of the poisoning-hospital-doctor fraud done to tourists. They are getting poisoned, taken to a doctor/hospital, given some “treatments” then billed about 20k, they have arrangements with the airlines not to let the “patient” leave the country until the bill has been settled. Just pay your bills- "So we can all get along" Good times until.. it's not.

Sad to see Cancun heading down hill, it is a gem.

Trying to hold my tongue here as this is a skoolie forum and not a political one. But...I've worked for the airlines for over 30 years and we just don't do those sort of things. At least not the US airlines, that's just ridiculous. All take all the poison I can get as long as it comes in a tall margarita. Anyhow, diesel in Sonora is about $4.10 a gallon as of two weeks ago. And I do drive at night in Mexico. I've heard of all sorts of stories and about the only on that I can personally vouch for is to keep a sharp eye out for livestock. A few years back a horse ran across the highway and we narrowly missed him. You can say the same thing for night driving here in the states in areas with a lot of deer and elk. And yes, the Dead are still around making millions of people happy.

So true!
And peoples close calls with "going places and not knowing where they are..."

My first roadtrip out west speeding through the night in my G20 Van.
Coming from a lifetime in the east those yellow "OPEN RANGE" signs meant absolutely nothing to me...
And then the moment I realized those fields of black boulders I was drivng through at 80mph were actually cattle wandering around and the whole "open-range" thing suddenly meant something and
Pure luck I didn't hit any! My death (if I had) would've been called a straight up lack of common sense by any local...

Meanwhile, at $4.10/gal that's an expensive roadtrip...
