Hey all, I am a newbie living in the Chicagoland area (suburbs not city). My wife and I have been looking into buying a van for a while but have always come back to the bus for nostalgia reasons. We are looking at converting a short bus for weekend getaways, week long vacations, and possibly renting it out on Outdoorsy when we are not using it.

I have been reading a lot about diesel vs gas engines and it seems the majority of people are saying to buy a diesel. Would this be a problem living in the midwest with the cold winters?

I have browsed on craigslist and found this bus:

What are your thoughts on something like this for what we are planning on doing? Price seem too high?

I am really looking for any advice because this is all new territory for me. Open to any and all suggestions.

Also, if anyone is converting in the Chicagoland area and needs a hand I'd be glad to offer any help! I think it would be fun to help out and learn from others so feel free to reach out.

Looking forward to any comments or suggestions.
