Anyone here own a flat nose 8 window?

I found a 9 window! Now I am a card carrying skooloe member!

Hi Roof
Factory tinted windows.
Rear lift door

Just need to go get her in Alabama (luckily I work in Mobile sometimes)

Yeah

There are several. A popular bus that size is a TC1000. I think those are 8 windows. find user 2kool4skool. he has one. they are in Arizona.

I am currently converting a 9 window =]
Just finished gutting and framing. Working on sanding so I can paint while the bus is fully gutted for spray foam insulation.

What would you like to know about dimensions? I can do my best to give you some beta.

Mostly looking for layout ideas and other's details in this size 8-9 windows (some idea of similar unit's empty weight, freeway handling, highway noise level, hill climbing, rear end ratios).

Do people love their selection of this type? Do something different "next bus?" Just trying to get an idea what I am in for on this new project.

Yeah

Congrats on that one... I'm a little jealous

At this point I can't really comment on how I like it as I am still in the build process, but I sought this size out specifically because I think it perfectly fits my needs. Even though I'm in the build process, I have a full-sized floor plan mocked up in the wood shop so while it's getting spray foamed I can be working on the furniture. I can try to post some pictures later this week to give an idea of how I'll be utilizing the space if you'd like!

Everybody has their own vision of the perfect bus. That would be mine. Congrats. I've driven trucks with the 466. Great engine. Lots of room but still has great maneuverability and not so long as to be difficult to find room for in campgrounds.

I have to agree on the size. I was looking for a big camper not a small home.

My guess is that she is approx 30ft long.

What is the GVWR on a 8 - 9 window? Its got to be 25' - 27' long. Wheelbase close to 12'? Does it have Air Brakes?

It's still 29k-lbs GVWR, yes on air brakes, my guess is 28-30ft bumper to bumper. From the IC FE300 wiki the wheelbase should be 144".

Yellow air brake control shown below. I am hoping for air seat and air suspension.

9 or 11 window

I have a 30ft Amtran that has a rear lift so it has 9 on the passenger side an 11 on the drivers side, if you don't include the door. High roof at 6'6" before the flooring or ceiling installation.

Still building it, cant wait to drive it. I work with trucks and buses so I get to drive them once in a while and makes me wish my bus was up and going.

That is a 11 window in my mind. Yours being 30ft is interesting, that would mean I am most likely under 26ft (nice).

sorry, not trying to go too far off topic...

But short buses are WAY more fun to get around in!
I prefer mine in CE form, but I'd take a sub-30 foot FE. I do like the engine access on my CE's a lot more though.

^bout as short as a full size bus gets.

UPDATE!

She is heading for the local International shop for a once over tomorrow. Hopefully all the vital signs will be green!

EAST COAST CB,

I love it! I would name her "HugeTinyBus" all you need is to add four-wheel-drive, it would be awesome.

You could steal the parts from a scraped 4800 4x4 work truck.
