Are all BlueBird All Americans totally galvanized?

:?: My '76 All American BlueBird and the local SnapOn guy's '88 AABB busses are completely galvanized TOP TO BOTTOM, EVERY PIECE OF SHEETMETAL, the 0NLY thing that isn't is the frame and suspension. Do all the BB All Americans have this feature? The SnapOn man seems to think so. What about other bus manufacturers, have they ever done this? If that is the case then anyone that has a problem with salt would be wise to consider an All American because of this rust resistance. My bus came from Salt Lake City and they use a salt water slurry for their roads and I have VERY LITTLE rust, just a tiny bit around the rr wheel well and of course the frame. BlueBird made mine so salt proof they even made the brake air lines out of copper so they wouldn't rust sitting against the steel frame. I also don't have any plywood on my floor to gather moisture, just a thick rubber matt glued to my galvanized steel floor, and there is no rust ANYWHERE. Now my front entry steps did have some rust on them but I cut them out anyway so it didn't matter. From what I have seen I would agree with what other people have told me, BlueBird is the Cadillac of busses. Any other skoolies want to chime in on this? sportyrick

All American Bluebirds

Mine is all galvanized as well, 1984 88 passenger, top to bottom. It does however have wood on the floor that I am currently replacing.

Yeehah! A 40 foot Front Engine with 3208 power... Where can I get one?
I can get a 40 foot TC-2000 in Oregon, but only with Cummins 5.9.

Didn't know about the galvanizing -- good to know. Would this apply to BB TC-2000, circa 1991?
Matter of fact, I don't know All American and TC-2000 apart; can you enlighten me?

If all the TC2000's are galvanized from top to bottom, my alma mater got ripped off. They may have had an issue with the wheel well falling off of a loaded bus....

Ah yes... Minnesotta! (I'm Norwegian.) Perhaps that is a difference between All American and TC-2000. Bluebird doesn't seem to have much historical info on their web site, so I'll have to search elsewhere -- I'm on the brink of buying a TC-2000 that I looked at recently. A rust free one. :twisted:
