I receive a newsletter from the American Civil Liberties Union and one of the latest items is on expanded Transportation Security Administration search procedures including body scanners.

Not everyone is fond of the ACLU to be sure, and people across the liberal-conservative continuum have strong opinions (for and against) about Homeland Security et al. I worry more at present about security measures than terrorists.

Screw the screenings and drive a skoolie! (Outfit it so you can camp in the cold, too.) How to make one seaworthy (to avoid airports during international travel) is beyond me, however.

I think they need to have EL AL (Israel Airlines) come over here and teach our airlines how to have a good airport security system. I have an uncle who flies everywhere (retired from United Airlines). He says they are impressive and have the best security.

And yet, their security is much less intrusive than ours. At Ben Gurion Airport, average time from curbside to departure lounge is less than HALF AN HOUR. Average at Logan (Boston) is close to 2 hours.

That is what I mean. They seem to be doing a good job and doing it better. I think we could learn a great deal from them.

A fearful populace is so much easier to control.
Numbed with consumerism, dumbed with media, and frightened out of their wits with a variety of manufactured crises, the people beg for a safe cell.
