Best State for Residency

New guy here, just beginning the journey. I plan to travel full time or as close to it as possible. I was planning to use a family members address as my home address for work, mail, taxes, etc.

Then I got to thinking that perhaps establishing an address in a different state might be worthwhile. Is there particular state folks would recommend? I am thinking from a financial point of view and not any other. I have lived in KS my entire life, so I am clueless of how other states operate. Someone mentioned to me that some states have lower or perhaps no personal property tax, which would be nice. I also wonder if having residence in some states might help with insurance costs or other things I am not even considering.

I would appreciate any thoughts/advice folks might have for me.

Bob Wells on his CheapRVliving YouTube channel has plenty of videos about this exact subject: I was watching one of them a few days ago. Plenty of other folk also have lots of useful info online or on YouTube about this. There are a lot of issues to consider, so hasty decisions shouldn't be made!
