With the rec cent edition to our family, we are finding that we may need a bit more space in our bus conversion, and are considering building a sleeping loft of some sort.

I was wondering if anyone has tips or info as to the most economical, safe and relatively easy way to build a small loft. There is the Ole classic - VW on top, wood roof raise, and then of course the metal roof raise. Which one to do ? Obviously each has advantages and disadvantages.

Again, we are looking for something small, inexpensive and easy to build.

Michael !
I was just going to email you and ask you this question and also if you are in Eugene yet.

We used to live in Eugene for years and have a lot of roots there. We are in southern Oregon right now but will be headed to Eugene in a week or two, then to cougar for a few weeks to make stuff for the festival. After that we will be staying in Oregon, probably Eugene but maybe Williams and Ashland area where we are now, for a long time and parking the bus so that we can finally install the Paloma, build a loft and make a playroom for Sage.

Would love to connect with you and Millie and pick your brains on our bus projects.

Did you find a good place to park and live ? Are you liking Eugene ? This is a great time to be there, lots of festivals and stuff to do.
