Hi all! I am trying to figure out how I can have both lol. Current plan is to make our own dry toilet and separate the urine. I saw on another thread someone set it up to catch the urine with a special attachment. Does it make sense that the water from the bidet would/could go into the urine separator? Also i need help own how to separate the solids and the liquids ...again the post I saw, they ordered something special on Ebay and of course it was sold. If water from bidet / some urine got into the toilet, adding more dry material should help correct? Thank you very much!

100% a key part of the "dry" toilet is the "dry". Keep the liquids away from the solids (lots of threads about diverters), keep ventilation happening to remove moisture that is there (negative pressure ventilation ftw). Do't do things that make the compost wet or you will be a Sad Panda.

Dry toilet is the key terminology.
No one is leaving their turds in them plastic bins long enough to actually turn to compost.

Bidet is a good thing!
I mean- if poop were on any part of someone other than their butt I bet they'd use more than just TP to clean it off!

Your looking for a "urine diverter".

waterless bidet?....i think i've seen something like that before...

where i come from, we call it toilet paper.

May be out of the question, but what size bus do you have? Is ther enough space to have a wet, and a dry setup? The wet toilet could even be a little smaller than the dry. Depending on size, it may even need to be emptied more often than the dry, but it could be done.

If you do, do a bi9det, be sure to let us know how you plumbed the squitter.

BTW, sorry the fig leaf idea didn't do it for you.

The urine diverter will almost certainly not work for the bidet unless you have a very different set up than is normally used. For camping I use biowipes or similar if I want to be able to bury them or regular wipes if I can pack them out.

If chaffing means that wiping is the issue then you can get squirt bottles and use them in the shower perhaps? Or over a wet only toilet which could be a seat on a 5 gal bucket. Good luck.
