Bluebird interior bottom panels.

Any suggestions on removing these bottom panels? They aren't riveted in with a normal rivet. I'd assume the grinder is gonna get some action soon but wanted to see if you guys have any tips.

They are solid rivets, instead of blind or "pop" rivets. They are secured with a hammer and swage block to mushroom the ends. You will have luck with grinding the heads off, but may still need to drill or drive some out.

Yeah, I was afraid the grinder was about to get some action. I used the grinder on all the top panels before I found that an air chisel was the best way to remove them. I hate griding...

That is the seat rail. The general consensus is it should be left in place as it joins the wall to the floor. The are many posts on this topic.

Thanks, I'm fairly new to forum life. I knew it was the rail but wasn't really sure how to search it for results on the topic.

I'll read some post on it, maybe it'll enlighten me on why leaving it is a good idea. Right now it's in the way. I'm open to learning why it's important though.

Good enough for me to leave it. I'm actually relieved. lol. I wasn't looking forward to that grinder. I'll just need to figure out some work arounds.

They are part of the structural integrity of the body, DO NOT REMOVE them.
