Bluebird Transit Windows

Hi, I am wondering if the emergency exit windows on this Bluebird Transit bus swing out? There does appear to be an upper hinge or track. I have seen photos of some that look identical where the people used them for ventilation by propping up when not driving. I just don't want to pull the lever and have them fall out. Thanks for any info.

Correct, But when pulled will the windows hinge out or just fall out and break?

I seriously doubt they would simply fall out. I don't think even emergency exit windows are made to do that. It's simple enough to try with an assistant on the outside to catch them if they come loose, but I don't think they're made to do that without releasing another type of latch.

Nice catch with the mattress below it..

Our windows are similar.. they come out if you swing them more then 90 degree. I was told by the NC transit that they were designed like that so you could easily replace them on the road. All of our windows are like that.. it was easy to take them out and put aluminum sheet over them and use the space to insulate..also handy to have some spares.

The ones that were not designated as emergency windows can still open . The window lock system is the same only the red handles are not there.. there should be a window switch that sets of an alarm.

We love these windows because it gives a lot of cross ventilation and have a great view.
