Bluebirs short RE city buses gov deals

Was looking at unrelated stuff at govdeals and noticed these.
Amazingly similar as our Thomas freightliner bus.


A couple of things which really make our bus very nice from our perspective.


high head room
easy to get in
very nice windows that open up completely and easy to make double pane.
rear engine
comfortable ride with airbags

super good turning radius

Wow a 2fer of identical buses! That’s a great deal for someone that can store a parts bus. That’s a great size too.

I'm sure someone would buy your school bus.
Do you have to tell them you realized there are better choices for a motorhome than a school bus?

Um, no. My plan would be to go through both transit busses and flip both of them, then buy another school bus that's missing the things I wish mine had.

It's all about the bottom line. At the end of the build, how much do any of us want to admit to sinking into these lead sleds? I know your goal is zero. Mine is under $10K. I see some of these getting into the $50K range. No thanks! I don't mind saying I spent $50K, or even $100K, just that I didn't have to pull more than $10K out of my budget.

We are at 5k for the bus...$500 tires...$ 500 aluminum sheets...500 webasto...$ 300 solar..$300 charge controllers..$150 plywood...$100 fridge...$125 freezer...$700 inverters..$300 SS shower pan and kitchen.
$100 induction stoves. Free .Microwave ..oven

$50 scrapyard Water tank..seats...coach ..$50 scrapyard awning.

Still under 10k but omg so many hours. That is the worse of these builds..
If you have an accident then there is no recovery.

If I would have worked for $25/H then I could have bought a very nice used RV. ...and even for 10 k I could have bought a RE pusher RV.

I needed the low floor and the handicap access ramp and having used it for a while now.. it is nice not to have the annoying door steps.. it is also nice that the whole bus is low and has a low center of gravity.
